Charges
• Derrick Woodley Clark, 25, of 7260 N.C. 181 was charged on Tuesday with carrying a concealed weapon permit violation. He was confined at the Burke County Jail. Bond: $500 secured. Court date: Nov. 17.
• James Edward Brown Jr., 29, of 4750 Gwaltney Road was served an order for arrest on Monday for felony obtaining property by false pretenses. Brown was confined at Burke-Catawba District Confinement Facility. Bond: $2,000 secured. Court date: Today.
• Makisha Abbington Lutz, 26, of 607-5th Ave. N.E., Conover was charged on Monday for aiding and abetting DWI. She was given a custody release. Court date: Nov. 5.
• Christopher Shawn Rutherford, 25, of 906 Jamestown Road, Apt. C3 was charged on Monday with carrying a concealed weapon. He was confined at the Burke County Jail. Bond: $250 secured. Court date: Oct. 20.

Incidents
• Jason Gold Bristol, 33, reported on Monday a theft at 1012 Jamestown Road. Bristol said someone stole a vehicle from the property. The vehicle does not function.
• Bruce William Bingham, 57, reported on Monday a break-in and theft at Bingham Storage, 1068 U.S. 70, Valdese. Someone removed the locks from storage units and stole property from within.
