America is deep into socialism

Oak Hill, N.C. - It is not the responsibility of government to provide food, clothing, medical care/abortion or housing for any citizen, rich or poor. These basic needs are the responsibility of the individual and his family, churches, charitable groups and next-door neighbors.
The Bill of Rights lists the "unalienable rights" of the people and the limited power of government. The U.S. Constitution is the foundation of our government; it has been assailed and weakened by corrupted politicians looking to buy votes with taxpayer money.
The general welfare includes public education, fire and police protection, the military and the provision of public infrastructure; anything else the politicians and activists claim to be a general-welfare provision is socialistic political mischief parading as democratic ideals.
It is not the role of government to take any amount of money from one individual or business and redistribute that money to another individual or business who has a "need" or is deserving of "assistance" and thereby "entitled" to someone else's hard-earned money. This is legalized robbery and there is no venue in which a citizen can seek redress or justice.
It is not the role of government to take care of the less fortunate by taking from the fortunate. And contrary to the populist myth, the rich cannot become rich by "taking" from the poor. The truly poor do not have anything that the rich can take. However, the "rich" can be forced to give money to the government which redistributes to whomever the politicians determine is "poor."
Any notion that the government has the authority to redistribute property, wealth, profit or savings to "the poor" is a socialist notion. Altruism is not the duty or responsibility of the government.
"Charity and good will" are the domains of the church and the family; any attempt by the government to redistribute assets based on "charity and good will" is pure and simple socialism.
No true progress ever begins by collective efforts, but always begins with the creative individual. The individual should have a reasonable expectation to profit from his intellectual property.
The worst epithet a true socialist can hurl at anyone is to call them "greedy." Without moderated greed, there would be no progress and very little technological development.
Governmental collectivism in any form (i.e., socialism, communism, Marxism, Stalinism or Leninism) will always stifle the people and reduce their ambitions to the lowest common denominator; only competition and a profit incentive will guarantee progress and wealth.
Free-market capitalism is the solution to poverty, injustice, inequality, environmental problems, energy crises and the material needs of the greatest number of people.
Socialism and government-controlled markets serve only to maintain the power of the elite ruling class and to ensure the subservience of the masses who must inefficiently toil to meet the contrived objectives of the powerful government autocrats.
America is deep into socialistic policies and laws that have created the myriad of problems we face today. The only solution is less government, far fewer government employees, less taxes and greater freedom and liberty to pursue life.
