Carol Cooper, Dian Turner, Lily and John Powell, volunteers from the Drexel Garden Club, recently decorated the cupola in downtown Drexel with garland, lights and bows for the Christmas season.
The club met at the Morganton Community House for its annual holiday dinner. Members brought non-perishable food items to donate to Burke United Christian Ministries.
A wide variety of programs were presented during the past year at their monthly meetings, some of which included soil conservation, parsley, pruning, gold fish plants, gardening tips and a pot luck dinner for Thanksgiving.
At the next regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. on Feb. 12, in the Triple Community Fire Department meeting room, the group will hold a plant swap. Visitors or anyone interested in gardening are always welcome to attend.
