An evening with Brian Boggs — From 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday. See one of the country's leading chairmakers work, watch his slideshow and ask him your woodworking questions. This event is free. Then join him from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday as he presents chair making from start to finish with demonstrations of woodturning, mortising by hand, seat weaving and more. The Quilting and Needle Art Extravaganza — Will be held Friday and Saturday at the Statesville Civic Center, 300 S. Center St., Statesville. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $3. The Quilting and Needle Art Extravaganza features 23 shops under one roof that will interest any quilter, knitter or fiber craftsperson.
Lean On Me — Bourbon Street Club of Hickory will host the first ever Lean on Me Benefit Jam at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Come out and jam with Shelia Carlistle, Robin and Tony Rogers, WSNB, Bob Dunlap, Mark Bumgarner, and many other local musicians. $10 donation at the door. If you are a musician, you are encouraged to bring your instrument and join in. If you are not, come on out and have a great time.
