An evening with Brian Boggs — From 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday. See one of the country's leading chairmakers work, watch his slideshow and ask him your woodworking questions. This event is free. Then join him from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday as he presents chair making from start to finish with demonstrations of woodturning, mortising by hand, seat weaving and more. The Quilting and Needle Art Extravaganza — Will be held Friday and Saturday at the Statesville Civic Center, 300 S. Center St., Statesville. The Quilting and Needle Art Extravaganza features 23 shops under one roof that will interest any quilter, knitter or fiber craftsperson.
Lean On Me — Bourbon Street Club of Hickory will host the first ever Lean on Me Benefit Jam at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Come out and jam with Shelia Carlistle, Robin and Tony Rogers, WSNB, Bob Dunlap, Mark Bumgarner, and many other local musicians. $10 donation at the door. If you are a musician, you are encouraged to bring your instrument and join in. If you are not, come on out and have a great time.
