Charges
• Thomas Jackson Smith, 47, of 1825 Lee Crawley Road was charged Tuesday with assault on a female. He was confined at Burke-Catawba District Confinement Facility. Court date: Aug. 17.
• Otis Tommy Cordell, 32, of 1000 Hopewell Road was served a warrant Tuesday for fraudulently converting property. Bond: $3,000 unsecured. Court date: was Wednesday.
• Joseph Robert Beck, 51, of 555 Amherst Road was served a warrant Tuesday for simple assault. He was released after signing a written promise to appear. Court date: July 31.
• Tommy Ray Huffman, 32, of 7360 Burke County Line Road, Hickory was served a warrant Tuesday for communicating threats. He was confined at the Burke County Jail for 48-hours. Court date: Friday.
• Anthony Taker Sherrill, 19, of 5101 Miller Mill Road, Apt. B, Hickory was served an order for arrest Tuesday for breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods. He was confined at BCDCF. Bond: $10,000 secured. Court date: Aug. 3.
• Cherrell Lecare Humphries, 21, of 650 HOward St., Spartanburg was charged Tuesday with failure to appear in court, driving during revocation and fictitious information to an officer. She was confined at BCDCF. Bond: $1,250 secured. Court date: Aug. 26.
• Valerie Marie Moreau, 48, of 3532 Crawley Higgins Ave. was charged Sunday with simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Court date: Aug. 12.
• Laney Bruce Bean, 52, of 1399 Upper Road, Seagrove was charged Sunday with simple possession of marijuana. Court date: Aug. 12.
• Jessica Noel Bradshaw, 18, of 1710-23rd Ave. Lane N.E., Hickory was charged Sunday with underage possession of alcohol. She was given a custody release. Court date: Sept. 16.
• Derrick Everette Monosso, 20, of 121 Springdale Drive, Marion was charged Saturday with simple possession of marijuana, DWI, provisional licensee driving after consuming, stoplight violation and driving left of center. He was given a custody release. Court date: Aug. 14.
• John Wayne Johnson, 46, of 3153 Roland Road was charged Saturday with DWI. Court date: was Saturday.
• Christopher Dale Williams Jr., 20, of Marion was charged Saturday with possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol. He was confined at BCDCF. Bond: $1,000 secured. Court date: Aug. 12.
• Donna Kay Freeman, 41, of 437 Meytre Ave N.E., Apt. A, Valdese was charged Friday with possession of drug paraphernalia, DWI and exceeding a safe speed. Court date: Sept. 2.
• Robert Lee Wingo Palmer, 38, of 1665 Ray Caldwell St. was charged Friday with resisting, delaying or obstructing arrest, DWI, reckless driving to endanger and helmet required for a moped. He was confined at BCDCF. Bond: $2,000 secured. Court date: Aug. 14.
• Megan Lee-Ann Barlow, 20, of 605 E. Union St. was charged Friday with underage consumption of alcohol, beer or wine. Court date: Aug. 11.
• Saul Perez, 37, of 4081 Sunrise Lane was charged June 30 with failure to produce or surrender license and no operator's license. He was confined at BCDCF. Bond: $1,000 secured. Court date: Aug. 19.
Incidents
• Pearl Harrison Bryant, 79, of 2472 Pax Hill Road, Lot 12 reported Tuesday a break-in and theft to an outbuilding at her residence. Bryant was last in her outbuilding on Friday. On Sunday, she was on a neighbor's porch. The neighbor noticed a piece of wood across the window of the outbuilding and that the window was slightly opened. On Tuesday Bryant surveyed her outbuilding and noticed several items were missing. The suspect took tools, a television and suitcases.
• Don Edward Chapman, 57, reported Monday a break-in at the Jamestown Flea Market. Chapman said the alarm sounded around 2:30 a.m. He drove to the area where the alarm was triggered and found the door at the rear of the building broken. A search showed that nothing was missing.
