Sounds of bluegrass in Valdese

Valdese Family Friday Night's summer series located at the Wachovia Parking lot will continue this week with a night of bluegrass featuring two local bands, The Sigmon Stringers and The Wind Riders.
The Sigmon Stringers are a three-generation bluegrass and gospel band. The original band was formed in 1972 and the family has been pickin' ever since.
With the addition of the third generation, their music has elevated to a new level of performance and enjoyment.
Featuring Mollie Sigmon, mandolin/fiddle/lead vocalist, Beau Sigmon, lead guitar/mandolin, Anna Sigmon, banjo, Mark Sigmon, fiddle, Ran Barger, bass fiddle, Randy Sigmon, rhythm guitar/vocalist and Clinton Sigmon, guitar/vocalist, this group will keep the crowd entertained.
The Wind Riders bring years of experience to the stage with soulful vocals and hard driving instrumentation. Featuring Steve Bradshaw, guitar/lead vocals, Toby Watkins, bass/lead and harmony vocals, Wayne Sowers, banjo/bass and Gabriel Wiseman, mandolin/lead and tenor, this ensemble of musicians play traditional and original music performed in an energetic show that are sure to please crowds where ever they perform.
Music begins at 7 p.m. and Myra's cruise in will continue its Friday nights with the classic/antique car show.
