Kling: Board hopefuls should provide their resumes

Morganton, NC - With public forums behind us and the election in process I would like to ask the Burke County school board candidates to produce their resumes so that we might see how qualified they are to run for the school board.
Even the most menial jobs require resumes. A board is responsible for a quality education for our children as well as tens of millions of taxpayer dollars, construction and maintenance of the schools and grounds, meeting state and federal regulations and guidelines.
All that is required for a resume is your name and address, career objective, previous work history, formal education and unique skills that lend themselves to the position being applied for.
In addition to the resume, each candidate should be willing to volunteer for a civil and criminal background check prior to the election.
