MORGANTON - A 22-year-old man was charged Friday with first-degree burglary after Morganton Public Safety officers said they found stolen property on him.

Jonathan Lee Bryant, 22, of 121 Willow Run Drive, Apt. F was also charged with felonious larceny after breaking and entering.

Bryant was confined at Burke-Catawba District Confinement Facility under a $75,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court the same day.

Audrey Ashley of Willow Run, 405 Old N.C. 18, Apt. 136, reported a break-in to her residence around 3 a.m. Friday.

According to the Morganton Public Safety arrest report, someone had opened and closed the front window, leaving the blind cord hanging on the outside.

The suspect left the blinds half open and pushed the sofa away from the inside wall of the residence, the report said.

Ashley told officers she always closes the blinds when she goes to sleep. She reported a cell phone, two cell phone charges, two black bags containing a Bible and an English textbook and medication as missing.

Officers said they found Bryant walking around the apartment grounds. Officers recovered Ashley's medication from the suspect.
