Draughn, East Burke dive in to swim season

Valdese - Draughn and East Burke High kicked off the swimming season at the Valdese Recreation Center, with the Rudolph Relays hosting Bandys High, Newton-Conover High, and South Iredell High out of the new Catawba Valley Athletic 2A Conference.
Since this swim meet did not keep score, these CVAC teams used this opportunity to prepare for the conference meets.
"The meeting was designed as a fun way to give the kids a chance to size up the competition," said Draughn head coach T.R. Robinson.
Draughn has their first CVAC meet Wednesday hosting Bandys. East Burke has their first conference meet on Dec. 2 hosting Maiden, Newton-Conover and West Caldwell. Both meets will take place at the Valdese Recreation Center.
