Lady Cavaliers win on senior night

Icard - On senior night at East Burke, the Lady Cavalier volleyball team got back on track in a big way with an impressive three-game sweep of the Lady Vikings of South Iredell 25-11, 25-13, 25-22.
The charged up Cavs won the first two games very handily before the Lady Vikings made a comeback in game three. The East Burke team ended the match with a three point, 25-22 win, after double digit wins the first two games.
The Cavs got huge games from Emily Greene with 16 blocks and Erin Collins, who registered 13 kills up front, while Katie Bonner's 19 assists and Hannah Buff's 12 digs were keys to the sweep.
East Burke finishes the CVAC with a 9-5 record and playoff seedings will be decided later.
In JV action, East Burke swept the JV Vikings 2-0
(25-21 and 25-15).
Madison Tallent again had a big game with 13 assists and three aces, Amber Gillespie registered six kills and seven digs, Oliva Conley had five digs and three kills and Tawni Haskins picked up five kills and one ace.
