Saturday
• Shiloh A.M.E. Church is sponsoring a Souper Bowl of Caring family fun night from 6 to 10 p.m. Bring a canned food item to donate to the Burke United Christian Ministries pantry.
• Lighthouse Gospel Music Ministry, 212 Walker Road, welcomes Truly Blessed at 6 p.m. Free coffee and snacks at 5:30 p.m. Free admission. Call 584-3697.
Monday
• The Way In, a weight-control group, will meet at 5:30 p.m. every Monday at Mull's Grove Baptist Church. Meeting includes a short devotion, nutritional program and simple exercise. Coffee and nutritional snack provided. Call 437-5654.
Tuesday
• All seniors are invited to join a Together Tuesday group from 10 to 11 a.m. the first Tuesday of each month at Denton's Chapel United Methodist Church. Fellowship, games and free coffee.
• The Twice Blessed clothing closet will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday. Free used clothes are available at Valdese First Baptist Church. Enter the doors at the back parking area. This is a ministry of the Valdese Unified Mission. Call 874-2266.
• Christian Business Men's Connection of Burke County meets at noon on Tuesdays for lunch in the Morganton Community House. No membership fees or requirements. Call 437-6285 or www.cbmc.com.
• Burke United Christian Ministries provides assistance for working families and seniors without transportation from 5 to 7 p.m. every second and third Tuesday of the month.
Wednesday
• St. Matthews United Methodist Church is hosting a Valentine's dinner on Friday. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. followed by entertainment by Terry Duckworth Ministries. RSVP by today. Call 437-5420.
• Outreach Wednesdays are on the second, third and fourth Wednesdays of each month at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. A meal is served.
• "Knitwits," a prayer shawl ministry at Oak Hill United Methodist Church, meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Bring a project and a covered dish. Call 433-5308.
• Joy Group (Just Older Youth) of Drexel First Baptist Church rehearses at 4 p.m.
Thursday
• A non-sectarian Buddhist group meets each week at 6:30 p.m. Call 443-1161.
• GriefShare, a weekly seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them, meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Bethany Hall at Hildebran First Baptist Church. Call 397-3641 or 397-5349.
