Heritage Middle School student council members loaded filled shoeboxes into a car Wednesday as part of the international program Operation Christmas Child shoebox drive. OCC is an annual effort through the Christian relief organization Samaritan's Purse, which brings needed items to children around the world. On Thursday, Chick-fil-A in Morganton will receive more shoeboxes during normal business hours, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Anyone donating a shoebox filled with toiletries and school supplies, will receive a free chicken biscuit during breakfast or a free chicken sandwich during lunch and dinner. For more information about OCC visit www.samaritanspurse.org.
