When we are totally confused and fail to see a way of getting back on track, we need to remember as we struggle along painful trails in life we can choose to trust or doubt our Savior's plan.
We know that trust in the Lord is built upon His love, His wisdom and His power. God's love for us is perfect. It is up to us to make the change in our lives to have peace of mind and experience the wonderful relationship with our Savior and the inner joy this relationship brings.
If we would take a serious and realistic look at all the troubling events going on in the world today, we would surely recognize that everything has a deeper spiritual meaning and embrace His love. And, most assuredly, the answer to our problems lies in trusting our Father.
The Christian life is sometimes like being an athlete. We endure firm training and undergo rigorous discipline for preparation for our heavenly home. God gives some of us extra years to make things right (Psalm 90:9-10). Having the opportunities to apologize to ones we have hurt and to correct our mistakes are a gift from our heavenly Father.
Our Savior is dependable. God's love is an important part of His nature (John 4:8). If we act in an unloving manner it would be going against His character and He never goes up against His own being. God loves His children and on His love you can depend (John 16:13).
Our Savior repeats the practice of showing His love daily, so we must understand that His love is unfailing. He demonstrates through His acts of kindness, even the hardest ones, how much He cares for His children. By assuming the position of prayer and thanking Him for all His marvelous grace and forgiveness, Christians will be favored by His love.
Beginning in the home, with prayer involving the whole family, is a good step to increase unity, truth and love between parent and children. If parents are teaching their children that it is okay to pray, it will bring comfort and deliverance in daily living.
Teaching our children how to handle change in life is a lesson of patience. Submission to God's will is an important step toward a believer's maturity.
Through our life in Christianity we will encounter many changes while we try to lead righteous lives. We must be prepared to make a strong and firm commitment to stand tough against the pitfalls set by the devil.
And we all know that the real change starts in the heart. As we make a full and true evaluation of self, we should admit to our shortcomings and start to work on the improvement of the nature of our very existence — the purpose, the "what" I can do to help others and how I can fulfill my Savior's wishes.
Remember, life is not about how long you live, it is about how you live. It's never too late to change your habits. Place your trust in God, and let Him take care of your time.
I am hopeful. You be also.
God bless.
