    The Hildebran Town Council accepted council woman Emily Williamson’s resignation and chose to consider a successor at its November meeting. Mayor Karen Robinson asked council members if they knew of anyone interested in serving on the council and distributed an information sheet, Town Clerk Ella Caudle said. Council awarded a $186,900 contract to WMC Rentals of Hickory to install a HVAC system at the town auditorium and gym. Council approved a request from Hildebran Elementary School for $60 for the second annual Veterans Day community celebration. The council received an update on the town park on Main Avenue East. Caudle said town staff met with MBI Builders and McGill Associates on Oct. 17 for a preconstruction meeting. The contractors said work on the park would begin sometime this week, Caudle said. That includes clearing and grubbing and erosion control. The park should be completed at the end of March. Council also chose to turn a part-time administrative assistant position to a full-time position, Caudle said. The position is vacant, and the town will begin advertising the job this week.
