Planting time

»  Comments | Post a Comment

While looking through the 2009 Farmer's Alkmanac, as always, there is a pile of information contained there. This publication was first established in 1792, and many have depended upon the information contained therein since that time. It gives you a timeline for planting, when to have your tooth pulled, and when to look out for the snow nd storms.
Many will be using this publication this year due to the economic picture in our country. Many will be planting gardens all over the place.
We are now on the eve of planting our gardens and crops. Many will be busy in the next few weeks and days planting our crops for the year. Many will be discussing about what they have already planted. Many conversations will be centered around our planting of the new crops.
The, season is also here for us to plant our faith and get rid of our doubts. All of us should be in the planting business at this, time. If we have the proper type of faith, we will discover that it will either remove mountains or tunnel through them.
Let us look at something else that we need to plant. What about forgiveness? Forgiveness saves the expense of anger, the high cost of hatred, and the waste of energy. The happy people are those who forgive and forget.
Do not put too much trust in those folks that say, "I will forgive you, but I will not forget." There is no such plan as this. When you truly forgive, you will forget.
Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door of resentment and handcuffs of hate. It will break the chain of bitterness and the shackles of selfishness. Now if you are going to bury the hatchet of disagreement, please do not leave the handle sticking out of the ground so that you can find it if you ever need it again.
The art of forgiveness is to keep on doing it. The more you do it, the warmer the heart will become, and life will offer you less stinging pains. Do no use the solution of getting even with someone, and then forgive them.
Plant some gratitude in your garden of life. How many of you walk up to your preacher on Sunday morning and thank him or her for the sermon, of say thanks to the choir members for singing, or the teachers in church school, or the ushers that wait on you? There are so many ways and opportunities for us to show our gratitude.
Plant some confidence in yourself. Shall you overcome the world, or will you let the world overcome you? Are you listening to the right voices or the wrong voices?
Plant some control systems on your tongue. James talks much about the control of your tongue. If you ae talebeareer, you yourself will be he object of talebearing all the days of your life. Those who gossip to you will also gossip about you.
The tongue is a source of deception. In I John 1:8: If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Page Two
A person who is deceived is someone who think he is right, but he is not. The tongue is set on fire by the demons of hell for the purpose of accusation and slander. Proverbs 6:16 says there are seven things that God hates, and three of them have to do with speech. Revelation 21:8 tells us, "All liars should have their part in the lake of fire.
Plant some love in your garden. Watch everything that you plant and make sure that you want to reap the harvest. Do not make the mistake of planting and then pray for crop failure. By God's command you will reap what you sow. That is God's law. If you plant bitterness, you are going to reap bitterness. It is sad to say this, but Satan has his demons working in the church. They appear as evil people, and believe me when I say, there are some evil people on the church roll.
Plant some survival skills. Some of us have book learning, but we do not know how to cope with the events that take place in our lives. My father called this "street education." With this bit of wisdom, you know how to survive in the storms of life.
Keep telling yourself that you up against time. Remember the sayings, "I have only just a minute, just 60 seconds in it; forced upon me-can't refuse it, I didn't seek it, didn't choose it. I must suffer if I lose it; give account if I abuse it, just a tiny little minute but eternity is in it."
Crooked rivers get that way by following the line of least resistance. So do some people. We should always be in training trying to make ourselves stronger in all manner.
There are many of us that are not victorious. We are defeated by circumstances, by other people, by the nature of wrong doings, our losses, pains and worry. Our defeats are in self centerness, but to have the victory, and in orde to grow a good crop, we must be centered in God.
A good crop will help us get victory over self, and that means getting over your bad disposition of being irritated about other people. As we hope and plan for a better life, just be careful about what you plant, and keep always in front of you the fact that the crossless life is a crownless death.
