Music, a petting zoo and food will be part of the Rutherford College Summer Festival on Saturday.
The festival goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is held in the town park at 450 Malcolm Blvd., behind the old town hall.
Entertainment this year will be Fantasy Band performing oldies, beach music and country. The band will do 45-minute segments throughout the day, said Jessica Bargsley, town clerk.
Emily Rhyder, 12, also will perform from 11 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m., Bargsley said.
Crimson Cross was scheduled to perform at the festival but had to cancel because of a family emergency, Bargsley said.
J and B Petting Farm will be there with a petting zoo for the kids. Bouncing Kids of Morganton also will bring an inflatable bouncing house, Bargsley said.
And about 18 vendors will be selling everything from jewelry and wooden crafts to art and Tupperware, she said.
Bennett's Bar-B-Que will be on hand serving free hot dogs, chips and drinks from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Plenty of door prizes will be given away during the festival. It's free to enter. Some of the door prizes include tickets to Biltmore House, Tweetsie Railroad and Dollywood, Bargsley said.
All of the businesses in town donated door prizes, as well as the vendors working the festival, she said.
