Be prepared for some Southern rock and blues to radiate Friday from the lawn of the Historic Courthouse Square.
Michelle Malone will be in concert from 7 to 10 p.m., with food and beverage vendors opening at 6 p.m.
The concert is sponsored by More Lace, Camp Lake James and Wright Table Company.
Michelle Malone comes to Morganton armed with a bottleneck slide, blues harmonica and her signature gut-wrenching vocals.
Moanin' Michelle Malone (a nickname given to her by Albert King after hearing her sing), was born in the dirty South and grew up listening to her mother sing in the church choir every Sunday. When it came time to craft her own sound, she took those religious roots and blended in enough rock and soul to keep the devil satisfied. Her latest CD "Debris" is getting rave reviews across the country.

No personal coolers and no pets are allowed on site. The Jailhouse Gallery, located next door, is open during the concerts. The TGIF Concert Series is a production of Historic Morganton Festival, Inc.
