The Starizons talent show, which is Friday at Heritage Middle School, 1951 Enon Road, will raise money for reading programs in the Burke County elementary schools.
More than 76 students – kindergartners up to high school seniors — auditioned for the show and about 25 will perform starting at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 person. Spokeswoman Kathy Oliver said proceeds will go toward creating incentives for children in Burke County schools to learn to read and reach grade level by third grade.
The following students are scheduled to perform: Gage Wallace, Max Teffeteller, Althea Collado, Sarina Vang, Nalee Vang, Marcia Lo, Macy Smith, Anna-Marie Cline, Lani Reece, Kendra Spann, Claire Guittard, Graleigh Hildebran, Cheyenna and Montana Grindstaff, Tristian Cuthbertson, Jowan Harris, Ben James, The Fiddle Club for Glen Alpine School, Abigal and Brantley Norris, Brendan Mazaleski, Lance Chapman, Daniel Davis, Morgan Mazaleski, Wyatt Fleming, Hannah Stencil, Carrie Price, Jade Lowdermilk, Eli Laughrun, Freedom High School Step Team, Sabrina Powell, Eleanor Frederick, Emily Byland, Reggie Miller, Graham Hildebran, Table Rock Middle School Jazz Band and the Whiteside Family Bluegrass Band.
Students also will be recognized during a visual arts presentation.
