Satterwhite: My 'good old boys' are people to be proud of

I received a campaign card from Tracy Norman asking me to vote for her because she "stood up to the 'good old boys."
I wondered, "Who are these good old boys?"
My good old boys hired one of the best superintendents in the state — a man respected by educators, parents, children and his peers. They fought for him when his reputation was being vilified.
My good old boys would not destroy the school system to get back at someone who holds their children accountable for their behavior and performance.
My good old boys are pragmatic stewards who would not throw good money down a rat hole in spiteful spending.
My good old boys value education. They revere teachers, love children and respect the parents. They seek the opinions of others and listen to them. They enjoy life-long learning and the pursuit of excellence. They are intellectually curious and gregarious. They read good literature and understand it.
I'm casting my vote for reason, respect and responsibility — Stroup, Wilkinson, Armour and Thomas. They have a published plan, not a hidden agenda. Burke County needs their vision, experience, maturity and commitment. They are my good old boys and gals. Go SWAT!
