A man police say robbed a woman at State Employees Credit Union ATM machine in Morganton is now in the Burke County Jail.

Kenneth Fields Jr., 32, of 3600 Rose Haven Drive, Charlotte was charged Tuesday with robbery with a dangerous weapon. His bond was set at $150,000, and his first court appearance is today.

Morganton Department of Public Safety Investigator David Curry said Fields was arrested in connection to an ATM robbery in May.

During the robbery, two men accosted a woman who was servicing the credit union's ATM machine by the Outreach Center on Fleming Drive. Curry said the suspects had a gun.

Investigators found Fields in July in the Spartanburg County Detention Facility, Curry said.

According to the facility's records, Fields was in jail for probation violation, being a fugitive from justice and pro-viding false information to police.

In May, investigators issued warrants for Fields (under the alias Timothy Dwayne Suber) and Lonnie Tyrone Smith, 31, of Columbia, S.C. Smith was apprehended and served the warrant earlier this year.
