Rock School Arts Foundation at the Rock School in Valdese has a new intern, Jessica Gullette, to help develop marketing/advertising techniques and new ideas to promote future events.
Gullette has a double major in studio art and graphic design at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
She moved to North Carolina two years ago and convinced her parents to finally move as well.
Some of her family already lived near Hickory.
Gullette has displayed her works at the Books and Brushes Exhibit at Lenoir-Rhyne, the Multicultural Center at Catawba Valley Community College and at the Rock School Art Galleries.
She won an honorable mention award for her piece "Journey" in an exhibit at Lenoir-Rhyne.
Rock School Arts Foundation Executive Director Elizabeth Furr said Gullette is a creative talent and hard worker and a student Dr. Robert Winter, Lenoir-Rhyne Art Department Chairman, should be proud of.
Furr said she is grateful for the opportunity to partner with Winter and Lenoir-Rhyne and hopes Gullette will benefit from working at a non-profit arts organization.
