The final week of the regular season in high school football saw the first Motown Throwdown, East Burke High looking for one more victory and Draughn High looking for two wins in a row.
Freedom High defeated Patton High 24-0 in the first Motown Throwdown on Friday at Patton.
In Iredell County, the East Burke Cavaliers defeated the South Iredell High Vikings 42-12.
In Valdese, Draughn's bid for two wins in a row to end the season was foiled by Maiden High. Maiden won 46-20.
