The Old Colony Players presented "The Sound of Music" starting Oct. 16 at Old Rock School. What a sound indeed and what a play it was. I was so excited to see the talent and skill that went into this grand production.
I introduced my granddaughter to "The Sound Of Music" movie at 2 years of age. She and I have started a tradition of watching the movie at least once a year during the holidays. She adores the music and the singing and she is captivated by the children.
Lilly and I went to see the play on Sunday and she was in awe. She is 4 now, but there was not a fidget or a wiggle through the entire play except for one potty break. She was so enchanted with it all. To her it was the greatest thing ever. We have had to watch the movie for two days now and decided we must see the play again.
I, too, enjoyed it immensely! The entire cast was amazing and Tammy Lail as "Maria" was simply outstanding. What a grand deal for Burke County.
May I just say "thank you" to each and every one of those who had the biggest to the smallest part in this wonderful production. The arts are so important to our culture and our children — especially the classics. If they performed for no one else, they performed for a 4-year-old little girl and her Nana and helped us to make one of the greatest memories we will share.
