Endowment Support
Burke County Cooperative Extension delivers education and technology that enrich the lives, land and economy of Burke County residents through a variety of venues. Working with young people through the 4-H Development Program, providing educational information to support families or utilizing the skills of the 50-plus master gardeners are a few of the ways we provide outreach to the county.
To reach additional audiences and grow the educational opportunities available to the county's residents, we ask you to consider making a contribution to one or more of the endowments set up to support the programs offered through Burke County Cooperative Extension.
The O. Reagan Ammons Agricultural Endowment has been established to honor our former director while providing additional funds for programming in agriculture for Burke County.
A second endowment was created to support youth development for the young people of the county through the Burke County 4-H Program.
The third opportunity is to support the gift given by Le and Clark Erwin. The Erwin's donated the property now called the Burke Extension Outdoor Learning Center at Bellevue. A gift will support future buildings, additions and/or programming at this property.
If you are unsure where you would like your gift to go, a final option is available. A Burke County Cooperative Extension Enhancement Fund has been created to support the total work of extension.
Whether it be through nutrition or horticultural programs, economic development or 4-H, the enhancement fund will provide additional resources.
In these hard economic times, many families, agencies and organizations need additional support that Cooperative Extension provides.
The Burke County Extension staff will continue to serve the residents in issues and concerns that face our society. Your contribution can help us serve residents better. These gifts will help us provide increased program opportunities, scholarships or reduced fees for participants who need the assistance and to better utilize the Extension Outdoor Learning Center at Bellevue. You might designate your gift to a program that has made a difference in your family's life. 100 percent of your gift will be placed in the fund(s) you request to support Cooperative Extension today and in the future.
All gifts are tax deductible and you will receive a receipt. If you wish to have your gift credited in 2009, make sure that it is postmarked by Dec. 31 (gifts by credit card should be received by Dec. 15 to ensure processing in 2009.) You may contribute to any of the previously mentioned endowments by completing a Pledge Intention Form, available at the Extension Office.
