Many people have posted comments against Tracy Norman in The News Herald or on line on morganton.com. I did vote for SWAT (Stroup, Wilkinson, Armour and Thomas) and I am proud of that fact. The one thing I have heard very little about from fellow SWAT supporters is saying "thank you" to Tracy Norman. I know some will be surprised to hear a SWAT supporter publicly telling her "thank you," but it does need to be said.
Thank you, Tracy, for running in this election and giving this county the chance to rectify the mistake we made when we voted you in. Thank you for showing the citizens of Burke County how valuable an effective school board is (and, in this case, how ineffective it can be when it fails to listen to its citizens). Thank you for reminding elected officials how not to act to those who have the power to fire them come election day. Thank you for showing the citizens of Burke County unity when it comes to seeing a good man done wrong (David Burleson). Thank you for unifying both students, staff and parents against your actions affecting those who you were supposed to represent.
And to Tim Buff, you're next.
