When the church is silent on the issue of abortion, it is in effect surrendering the truth to the lie prevailing in America today and serves Satan rather than Him who says, "I am the truth." The result is judgment on our nation which begin with the household of God (I Peter 4:17) and extend to us as individuals. The testimony of anguish and guilt from men and women within churches who have received or paid for abortions is one tragic expression of this (Proverbs 24:11-12).
When the church is faithful, standing for righteousness which is obedience to the revealed will of God in defense of those who cannot defend themselves, persecution can be expected (II Timothy 3:12). Persecution is a blessing which produces perseverance, character and hope (Romans 5:3; Philippians 1:29; I Peter:12-14). Additionally, the blessings of seeing lives saved and troubled souls delivered, of witnessing the effective Word of God accomplishing its task — these too accrue to the faithful church (Isaiah 55:11-12; Matthew 5:10-13).
The greatest tragedy of the abortion issue is man fails to see the worth of the child, born or unborn, as God does. There is no physical or mental standard for human life, so all life is precious. Protecting life has nothing to do with forcing our views upon someone else. Much of our society has been lured away from seeing the unborn through the eyes of God, because we have left our spirituality and convictions in the building where God's church meets. God means for all Christian to be the salt and light to the whole world (Matthew 5:13-16).
So please, everyone who loves the born and the unborn, all it takes is one voice speaking the truth, one person willing to take a stand, to change one person, one mind, one heart at a time. Remember, silence is acceptance. Please pray and join us. May God bless and guide America forever.
