Two men were shot Monday evening, one of the men, Mastin Fontane Shuford, 21 of Morganton, died from his wounds, according to Concord Police spokesman Capt. Gary Hatley.
At approximately 8:07 p.m., Concord Police Department received a call of a vehicle crash at the intersection of Gaither Place and Davidson Highway in Concord.
While traveling to the crash, police officers received a call that gunshots had been fired in the area of Gaither Place and Bellhaven.
When the police officers arrived at the scene they found the driver of the vehicle unresponsive.
The driver, Shuford, and a passenger in the vehicle, were transported to CMC-NorthEast, Shuford suffered what appeared to be at least one gunshot wound, and died at the hospital.
Christopher Rashad Dooley, 17 of Concord, was charged with one count of first-degree murder.
Officers are still investigating the possibility of a second person being involved in the shooting.
