Looking for something to do this Halloween? Here are some of the events going on around Burke County.

Rhodhiss Fire Dept.
Haunted Park
When: Dark until 11 p.m. today and Thursday. Dark until "the last victim falls" Friday and Saturday
Where: Rhodhiss Park, 100 Carolina Ave., Rhodhiss.
What: In its 14th year, the haunted park will once again offer a guided tour through a wooded trail and haunted buildings. Admission is $4. Refreshments and novelty items will be on sale in the parking lot.

Hickory Ridge Haunted Hay Ride
When: Thursday through Saturday
Where: 6484 U.S. 64, Morganton. Follow the signs.
What: A mile-long hay ride through a haunted forest. Free for children under 5, $5 for 5-9 years old; $10 for 10 and older.

Treats in the Streets
When: 3 to 5 p.m. Friday
Where: Downtown Valdese
What: Trick or treating with local merchants and a costume contest. First- through third-place prizes for ages 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12.

Halloween Spooktacular
When: 3 to 6 p.m. Friday
Where: Historic Morganton Courthouse lawn
What: Trick or treating with downtown merchants, free games and a costume contest with up to $25 in prizes.

Trunk or Treat
When: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday
Where: Morganton Moose Family Center, 2722 Moose Lodge St.
What: Trick or treating for children 12 and younger in the parking lot. Other activities include a cake walk, photo opportunities and a hot dog meal for $2. Proceeds go toward Moose charities.

Seventh annual Boo Bash
When: 4:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Table Rock Middle School, 1585 N.C. 126, Morganton
What: Halloweenie Hot Dog supper begins at 4:30 p.m. Cost: $5 for hot dog with fixings, chips, cookie and a drink. Proceeds go toward the eighth-grade students' outer banks trip. Trick or treating begins at 5 p.m.

Second annual Burke County Pumpkin Bowl
When: 8:30 a.m. registration. Event begins at 10 a.m.
Where: Catawba Meadows Park on Sanford Drive, Morganton
What: A disc-golf tournament with four divisions: junior, joe, advanced and pro. Includes a costume contest and collection of canned goods for Burke United Christian Ministries. $25 entry fee. All players receive a new disc.

Foothills Corn Maze
When: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, 2 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday
Where: 4895 Morning Star Church Road, Morganton
What: The corn maze is staying open after dark on Halloween. Bring a flashlight and see if you can get through the maze at night. Admission: free for children 2 and younger, $4 for 3-10; $6 for 11 and older.

Friends for Animals annual Halloween party
When: Noon to 3 p.m. Saturday
Where: Historic Morganton Courthouse Lawn
What: Costumes aren't just for humans, dress your pet up for the costume contest. The entry fee is $5 per pet. Several prizes will be awarded.

Trunk or Treat and Halloween maze
When: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday
Where: Autumn Care of Drexel, 307 Oakland Ave., Drexel
What: Children's trick or treating along an indoor and outdoor haunted trail.
