CoMMA hosts "American Revival" with the Dixie Bee-Liners, Sierra Hull and Uncle Earl together for the first time in concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5.
Drawing from the worlds of acoustic, folk, country and bluegrass, "American Revival" offers a taste of the most exciting young artists in these genres today. The Dixie Bee-Liners, Sierra Hull and Uncle Earl already well known across the country from playing such prestigious events as Telluride Festival, MerleFest the Grand Ole Opry and Prairie Home Companion, appear all in one night on one stage in Morganton.
The Dixie Bee-Liners were named 2008 Bluegrass Artist of the year by the Roots Music Association. Their critically acclaimed new album, RIPE, recently topped the Bluegrass Now Fan's Choice top 20 chart twice, and also achieved two simultaneous No. 1s on Bluegrass Music Profiles' Top 20 Hot Singles.
Sierra Hull is a two-time Mandolin Player of the Year Nominee at IBMA in 2006 and 2007. Articulate and engaging on-stage and off, Hull has already emerged as a leading light in a new generation of bluegrass musicians.
Uncle Earl proudly claimed the 2008 Folk Alliance Award Winner of Album of the Year for "Waterloo, Tennessee," the music of Uncle Earl points toward the roots of stringband music (Scot-Irish ballads, Celtic fiddle tunes and the blues.
