Morganton and Valdese downtowns invited youngsters to celebrate Halloween on Friday in the streets and businesses. Carleigh Carpenter , 4, dressed as Glenda (the good witch) scored some taffy Friday evening as she walked along the streets of Morganton with a large crowd of other trick or treaters. Carleigh wore a creation by her grandmother, Carla. She enjoyed watching her bucket fill up from kind folks such as Drexel`s Richard Clark sitting in front of High Country Leather. Carliegh is the daughter of Oak Hill`s Kristin Carpenter.
