Two of the three high school football teams from Burke County were victorious with one making some history on Friday.
Draughn High won its first varsity game as a school and as it went on the road to Lenoir and defeated Catawba Valley Athletic Conference foe West Caldwell High 47-34.
Freedom High won its second game in a row as it easily defeated a short-handed Chase High squad 48-6.
East Burke lost in a battle of CVAC heavyweights as they went down at home to Bandys High. Bandys stayed undefeated in the CVAC with the 28-14 victory over the Cavaliers.
Patton had a bye week. They host Freedom next Friday.
