Delta Moon rises over Morganton

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Americana Stage, in association with the Burke Arts Council, presents Delta Moon at 8 p.m. April 10 at the Jailhouse Gallery.
Tickets are $20 at the doors, which open at 7 p.m.
The dual slide guitars of Delta Moon — Tom Gray and Mark Johnson — are known for carrying the listener deep into the heart of the American South, where sinuous Mississippi blues meets the gritty backwoods twang of Appalachia and winds around a rock-steady beat like kudzu on a barb wire fence.
The band also includes Drummer Darren Stanley and bassist Franher Joseph.
Delta Moon's latest CD, Hellbound Train, is out now in Europe on the Blues Boulevard label, and in the United States, Canada and Japan by Red Parlor Records.
The April 10 performance will be more of an acoustic instrumentation, including stand up bass and small drum set.
For tickets, call Clint at 433-0198.
