The Blue Ridge HealthCare Breast Cancer Action Team is sponsoring its third annual "Putting for the Pink" golf tournament.
The tournament will take place May 7 at Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club. The format is Captain's Choice with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. A buffet lunch will be provided from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All proceeds go to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure NC Foothills Affiliate supporting Burke, Catawba and Caldwell counties. The NC Foothills Affiliate keeps 75 percent of all funds locally for breast cancer screenings, breast cancer education and patient support programs, while 25 percent will go to the national headquarters to advance breast cancer research.
The tournament needs sponsors and players. Golfers are encouraged to make your own foursome of men, women or both and the field is limited to the first 25 paid team entries. Entry fee is $280 per team or $70 per player. Tournament officials will use the Peoria Handicap System.
Sponsorship opportunities range from associate sponsor — $2,000; lunch sponsor or driving range sponsor — $1,000; team and hole sponsors — $400; hole sponsors — $150; and friend sponsors — from $25 to $100.
Prize for first place gross is four $100 gift certificates; first place net is four $100 gift certificates and second place net is four $50 gift certificates. Specialty prizes will be given for closest to pin, longest putt and longest drive.
