Extension offers gardening classes

As the growing season comes closer, it's time to start thinking about those garden projects you've been wanting get done but don't quite know how to get started.
Maybe there's pruning that needs doing or some raised beds that have been in the back of your mind for a while.
There might be some ideas for containerized plants or even a newly-planted lawn that you just need a little help with.
Whatever the garden issue might be, there's help for you and your project.
Extension's Successful Gardener Workshops have been scheduled. All classes are free. Call the Extension office at 439-4460 to register.
n Pruning fruit trees and grapevines, 9:30 p.m. to noon Feb. 17 at Rockcreek Farms (directions are available)
n Landscape drafting and design, 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at Burke Agricultural Building
n Organic gardening, 6 to 8 p.m. March 4 at Burke Agricultural Building
n Spring lawn care for homeowners, 10 a.m. to noon March 13 at Morganton Ace Hardware
n Building a raised bed, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 25 at Burke Agricultural Building
n Container gardening, 10 a.m. to noon April 17 at Morganton Ace Hardware
n Controlling and identifying lawn weeds, 6 to 8 p.m. April 22 at Burke Agricultural Building
n Controlling diseases and insects in the vegetable garden, 10 a.m. to noon May 22 at Morganton Ace Hardware
n Fall lawn care 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 18 at Morganton Ace Hardware
