Burke County United Way is seeking nominations for the T. Henry Wilson Community Builder Award.
The board of directors give the award at the United Way annual meeting each February.
For this award, United Way is looking for a person who:
• impacts the community
• energizes and inspires others to make a difference
• helps build relationships and coalitions that make a difference in human services and public policy
• ensures that basic human needs are met through the human services network in the community
• increases investments by expanding and diversifying local efforts
• reflects the diversity of the community
• is a problem solver
• provides active leadership in developing solutions to public policy and community issues.
Previous recipients are Rebecca McLeod, the Rev. Tom Bland, Bill Allman, Otto Woerner, David Burleson, Wayne Abele Sr., R. L. Icard and Edna Weller.
