Reports of Bigfoot sightings and evidence in Burke and Cleveland counties have drawn the attention of renowned Bigfoot hunter Tom Biscardi, who sent a team of investigators to the scene over the weekend. They think the footprint is the real deal.
Biscardi, the CEO and founder of Searching for Bigfoot Inc., said his team of “seasoned, trained researchers and trackers” Rob Price, Chuck Creel and Greg Worthington of Alabama made the trek to Burke to look into the footprint Elbert “Pork” Lowman of George Hildebrand found on June 6.
Lowman found the footprint, traveling perpendicular to a pathway on his property. He was on a tractor path on land his brother owns off N.C. 18 South. The footprint measured almost 16 inches long and 8 inches wide, prompting Lowman to contact local television show Rex Allen Theater Presents.
The men made a plaster cast of the footprint, and along with a sighting less than 10 miles away in nearby Cleveland County, drew the attention of Biscardi.
“It looks pretty valid that it is a real print,” Biscardi said. “It has a midtarsal break and dermal ridges. At one point you can see a nail as it’s digging down to get traction in the mud.”
Biscardi said his team mapped out the trail where Lowman found the footprint to find out the direction it was headed. The team spent the night in Cleveland County, where Tim Peeler of Casar said he saw Bigfoot on June 5.
Rex Lail of Rex Allen Theater Presents said the show’s crew went to investigate the scene with the intentions of finding out how someone faked the big footprint, but couldn’t find evidence proving or disproving the footprint’s validity.
