Burke Arts Council invites children to learn

Burke Arts Council Gallery will offer children's art classes with Janet Moore on June 29- July 2.
The fee is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
"Japanese brush painting techniques" using black India ink and a bamboo brush on rice paper is available for children ages 8-10. Children will explore different Japanese brush strokes to create a painting or just sample the art of ancient Japan. The class is offered from 9 to 11 a.m. June 29 - July 2.
"Clay fun" will allow children to make an animal out of clay using slab technique. Bring your own lunch and picnic on the lawn. This is for ages 8-10 and will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 29 - July 2.
"Paint on" is for children ages 5-7 and will help them learn to paint with a flair, create a picture on a canvas, make a border and learn when to use a pattern.
It is offered from 2 to 4 p.m. June 29 - July 2.
The Burke Arts Council is in the Jailhouse Gallery, 115 E. Meeting St., Morganton. Call 433-7282 to register. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
