Valdese kicks off Family Friday Nights

The Valdese Family Friday Night series will begin its season this Friday in the Wachovia parking lot with two great bluegrass bands. Beginning at 7 p.m., the legendary Bobby Denton and the Laurel Creek Band will take the stage.
This group brings more than 40 years of playing experience to the stage and always promises to provide an entertaining evening. The band consists of Bobby Denton, Freddy Beach, Keith Coffey, David Withrow and Rex Annas.
Ridge Crest will continue the evening with bluegrass music and begin playing at 8 p.m. The group has been together for more than 10 years and includes Bob Macchia, Doug Trivette, Rick Everhart and Rex Annas.
Myra's will continue their Friday night cruise-in with more than 70 antique and classic cars on display. Several merchants will keep their doors open late for those that like to do a little shopping.
Family Friday Nights will continue through August and are sponsored by the Town of Valdese, the Valdese Merchants Association and The News Herald. Call 879-2126 or go to www.visitvaldese.com.
