You perpetuate the myth that entities which permit Christian prayer before a meeting endorse Christianity. Perhaps you can cite one example whereby the Board of Education, County Commission, et al, specifically endorsed Christianity when introducing a speaker who offered a prayer?
Atheists and others who hate Christ and His church are quite willing to violate the First Amendment rights of those who pray publicly by demanding they not pray in the name of Jesus Christ. A prayer not uttered in the name of Jesus is totally ineffective.
Frankly, I have no respect for an ordained Christian clergyman who allows himself to be intimated by a government official regarding public prayer. Asked not to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, a clergyman should politely, but firmly, refuse.
Incidentally, if a prayer is not offered in the name of a "deity," to whom is the prayer offered?
