The Walter R. Johnson Middle girls basketball team raced to an early lead which they never relinquished in moving to 2-0 on the young season.
The Lady Yellow Jackets stomped Northview, 38-20, in a home contest on Nov. 22.
WJMS outscored the Lady Hawks 12-1 in the opening quarter, then led 20-5 at halftime. Madison Ervin led the Jackets with 19 points, while point guard Ansley Rooks poured in nine points. Taylor Gardin chipped in with six points, and power forward Christina Perkins added four.
Guard Victoria Eckerd led the Lady Hawks with 15 points.
WJMS opened up Foothills Athletic Conference action Monday at East Burke.
BOYS
Northview 48, Walter R. Johnson 32 — The visiting Hawks sailed to a 16-point road victory at Walter R. Johnson on Nov. 22.
Northview led 23-17 at the half. Calvin Camp led the Hawks in scoring with 10 points.
WJMS (0-2) picked up eight points each from Josh Rutherford and Marcus Hawkins. Shooting guard Austin Butler scored six while point guard Ethan Roper chipped in five. Forest Duckworth and Tyler Hodges added two points each.
